BrowseToNext and ClickNext are two Actions that enable data capture on subsequent screens of List ScrapeMaps. ScrapeMate will present a BrowseToNext or ClickNext Action option depending on the characteristics of the ScrapeMap and the web source data being scraped.
For the BrowseToNext and ClickNext Actions in the Source Browser Pane click the next arrow or indicator on the bottom of the screen (shown below in yellow).
This will open the ScrapeMate Wizard Dialog, then select the BrowseToNext or ClickNext Action. Different options may be presented depending on the type of ScrapeMap and the characteristics of the website you are web scraping. If the website uses links for its Next page buttons you will have the option to either BrowseToNext or ClickNext but if the site uses JavaScript for its Next buttons you will only be able to select ClickNext. Given the choice BrowseToNext is preferable to ClickNext.
This example below is for a JavaScript Next button so the Wizard Dialog only contains the ClickNext Action.
After you have selected the “Click Next” option in the Wizard Dialog enter a user defined Name to identify the type of Action. The name of the action must be unique and contain no spaces or special characters. The Description is an optional user defined field to specify additional information about the Action but has no impact on the actual data scraped.
The Max Times Performed should be set based on the number of additional screens you want to web scrape. The example below shows 250 pages. Note that the more screens you scrape, the longer the ScrapeMap will take and there are limits to the capacity of output write formats.
BrowseToNext and ClickNext Actions can be modified through the Properties Tool Bar and renamed or deleted in the Explorer Pane by right clicking on the BrowseToNext or ClickNext Action.
Note: The ClickNext or BrowseToNext Actions are not supported in Trial Version of ScrapeMate.
